Ad Lib Gallery is delighted to present a duo exhibition of works by artists Shamani Surendran & Katharine Rowe.
This exhibition brings together the evocative works of a visionary photographer and a masterful oil painter, both dedicated to capturing the raw beauty of nature. Through the lens and the brush, they explore the fleeting magic of light, the textures of the earth, and the ever-changing rhythms of the natural world.
While the photographer freezes moments of untamed landscapes in striking detail, the painter transforms nature’s essence into rich, expressive canvases. Together, their works create a dialogue between realism and interpretation, inviting viewers to immerse themselves in the sublime wonder of the wild

Shamani was born in Malaysia and prior to moving to the UK resided in Australia for several years. She lives with her family in Wimbledon and is a keen photographer. She has always been interested in taking photos but became passionate about photography in 2020, during the pandemic, whilst on solitary walks with her beloved dog Flint.
Katharine Rowe is a London-based artist renowned for her use of colour. Working from her home studio in Wimbledon, Katharine is a self-described colourist.
Her creative process often involves spending considerable time mixing paints to achieve deliberate and impactful brushstrokes. She primarily uses Michael Harding oil paints for their unparalleled colour quality and prefers linen canvases for their texture.
